Effingham Commoners Rights enforced

On Sunday 30 September on Effingham Commoners Day, there were displays from Guildford Borough Council (owners of Effingham Common) about the Common; Guildford Museum; St Lawrence Primary School had some wonderful nature pictures by the school children on display; Surrey Hills AONB; Effingham History had a display about Dr Charles Sutton, and Effingham Cricket Club were serving refreshments. There was a nature walk, a scything demonstration, face painting and for the more adventurous children, a climbing wall. St. John Ambulance were in attendance in case of any accidents.

The Guildford Mayor, Mike Parsons, along with the mayoress and Chairman of Effingham Parish Council, Ian Symes, were present for the ceremonial enforcement of Commoners Rights on Effingham Common, with grazing sheep.
