Effingham Eye: Church Fete, Dambusters and Local Committees

Chris Dick has written an interesting article in the Guildford Dragon about recent events in and around Effingham.

On Friday evening 1st June, there will be a talk by Dr Robert Owen former Chairman of the Barnes Wallis Trust, on the World War 2 Dambusters Raid, which will be presented in St Lawrence Church, Effingham. On Saturday 2nd June there is the Church Fete in Church Street between 11am to 3pm. Church Street will be closed for the Fete. Further details are on the events page.

Cllr Liz Hogger and Chris Hogger have announced their retirement from Effingham Village Recreation Trust (EVRT)at the Parish Council meeting on 24 April. Their retirement from EVRT will take affect from 1st June 2018.

Given recent events, the question is asked whether there is any point in having Parish Councils.
