As Guildford’s Essensuals salon celebrates 15 years in the town, co-founder of Toni & Guy and Effingham resident Toni Mascolo, talked of his love for hairdressing, pride in his children and even the launch of his very own pasta sauce.

Founded 52 years ago, with his brother, Toni & Guy began as a single salon in Clapham, London, and now employs more than 7,000 in the UK and abroad.

CEO Toni Mascolo continues to play a large role in the business, following Guy’s death in 2009, and still has time to cut hair in the flagship salons.

Mr Mascolo, 72, has constantly seen his business as a family affair and his daughter Sacha is now the global creative director, while his eldest son Christian is managing director of the sister company, Essensuals, a chain of hair and beauty salons.
