EFFRA supports planning application for proposed 3G Artificial Grass Sports Area on KGV

Effingham Village Recreation Trust (EVRT)  has applied for planning permission for an artificial grass surface called 3G to cover the old tarmac hard courts on the King George V Playing Fields (KGV). The initiative has been spearheaded by Bookham Colts Football Club which has been fund raising for the surface for over two years. It now has raised nearly 90% of the £125,000 required from donations and grants.

EFFRA thinks this will be a great facility for local residents as it is also intended to be used for other sports including netball, mini rugby and walking football and netball. It can be used by all age groups and organisations including schools, sports clubs and recreational groups. If planning permission is granted and the remaining funding can be raised work could start as early as May and be finished in June 2019.

EFFRA has written in support of planning application 19/P/00092  which can be read here.
