7:23am 25th November 2014

Chilworth resident and founding member of Frack Free Surrey, Doctor Damien Short is chairing the debate.

While environmental consultant Paul Mobbs and Kathryn McWhirter from Frack Free Balcombe residents association, will also be speaking.

They will be discussing ‘whether fracking really is providing the UK with energy security and lower gas
bills, whilst also creating thousands of jobs, as Number 10 claims?’

Paul Mobbs said: “It would appear, irrespective to any evidence to the contrary, that the Government believes shale gas development in Britain to be acceptable in terms of its impact upon the climate; and that this position is based upon assumption, not on fact.”

The meeting begins at 7pm at the Friends Meeting House in Guildford.
