Thousands write to MPs on new roads threat to the countryside

Campaigns update  Campaign to Protect Rural England
Good afternoon
We’ve had an incredible response to our campaign to keep the bulldozers off our most precious countryside. Within hours of sending out our Campaigns update last month thousands of letters were sent to MPs. Please can you add your voice to our campaign by sending a message to your MP too?
Can you send a letter to your MP today? We’re making a difference on walking and cycling
With other national transport and health groups we’re calling for a Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy for England. MPs are now close to agreeing to it. If just a few more of us write to our MP before a crucial vote on Monday 26 January, we could secure the long-term funding for walking and cycling that is so desperately needed. If you haven’t joined the thousands who’ve already written to their MPs then please do so today.

Help us get a change of direction on transport
There is still time. The Infrastructure Bill is continuing its final passage through the House of Commons. If we don’t manage to persuade MPs to change this Bill, it would lock much higher spending on road-building into law. Funding of alternatives will be squeezed, particularly in rural areas. If we are to protect the countryside and give people more travel choices, road-building should be the last resort, not the default option. We’ve prepared a letter for you to send to your local MP. It will only take a few moments to complete.
Please send an email to your MP today
