The Guildford Greenbelt Group have had three councillors elected to the Guildford Borough Council just seven months after forming
The group, who set up last November, were disappointed not to get more councillors in the Tory controlled council.
Susan Parker, who is the leader of the GGG, said: “It’s obviously not going to be as many as we hoped for. But we’re a new party…and we’re going to hold the current council to account.”
34 Tory councillors were elected to the council. While the Liberal Democrats had seven councillors elected and Labour had one.
All the results are now in for Surrey and Hampshire’s council elections.
Out of the 14 authorities – 12 are Conservative, with Epsom being controlled by the Resident’s Association and Hart having no overall control.
