Effingham Community Store in Sir Douglas Haig pub

Today, Monday 13 July, the Effingham Community Store opened its doors to customers in its new premises in the Sir Douglas Haig Pub. A lot of hard work has gone into moving the store from Laylas by volunteers in moving the store to its new location. The Community Store is very grateful by the owners of the Sir Douglas Haig to allow them to use their premises during the current Covid-19 emergency.

Eager customers were there at the opening to make the first purchases in the new premises.

As you can see, the store is well stocked with basics, plus a few treats.

Laylas who have been extremely supportive of the Community Store, are now making their own preperations to open up later on in the week. They are in the middle of fitting new doors to ensure social distance can be maintained.
