Council tax payers in Guildford will see their bills rise by 3.29% of the portion set by the borough council
That works out at £5 per year for a Band D property. Last year the rise was 1.9% and this time the council reports that the grant it receives from the government for 2016-17 has been reduced by £880,000.
The rise was agreed by the council at its meeting on Wednesday (February 10) that outlined its budget for the coming financial year.
