Concern over increased land allocation for possible Wisley development in Guildford Borough Council draft Local Plan
Last week Guildford Borough Council Planning Committee rejected controversial plans for access to a development for 2100 new homes and school at the former WW2 Wisley Aerodrome by the A3/M25 Junction 10.
Local resident Ben Paton (pictured above) warns that the risk of development has not gone away. It has got a whole lot worse. He draws attention to the increased amount of land allocated by the Borough Council for the new town in their most recent issue of the draft Local Plan. The map shown above (and enlarged below) shows the potential new site has grown in size since the plans were first put out.
Comparing these images the one above (in the draft Local Plan) now shows that the farm land to the south in the middle area is included in the land allocated for building. The indicative sketch below provided by the developers shows the land was to be left undeveloped.
