Great weather brought out plenty of Effingham residents to exercise rights over the Common, which was looking at its best after a week of cutting and baling.
Effingham Parish Council Chairman Arnold Pindar welcomed Guildford Borough’s Mayor and Mayoress who then met the Effingham Common Wardens and saw cattle from Merrist Wood, a Wisley Gardens apple identification display, Surrey Hills Society, Woodturning and History Society display.
Excellent cream teas provided by the Cricket Club ladies.
