Council tax referendum: Everything you need to know ahead of crucial vote on 15% hike

Surrey residents will head to the polls later this year to decide whether they will support a 15% rise in council tax.

The increase, which equates to around £190 extra per year for your average Band D property, will be added to bills ahead of the vote.
 
However, if a majority of residents don’t support the rise, bills will subsequently be recalculated and people reimbursed for over-payments.
