Heritage Open Day Changes

Following the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II there will be some changes to Heritage Open Days this weekend.

The national Heritage Open Days team has decided to continue with the Festival but it will be lower key. The Church of England has withdrawn its churches from the Festival as they will be open instead for prayer and contemplation and there will be a book of condolence available to sign. Most catholic churches will also not participate for similar reasons. Some “fun” events have been cancelled as a sign of respect but many other planned events will open as planned. Please see the national Heritage Open Days website for up to date details: www.heritageopendays.org.uk/
