The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June

A week of celebration in Effingham is planned to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Starting of Saturday 28 May, there will be a special Village Jubilee Market in St Lawrence Church Hall and grounds.

During the week there will be floral displays in the churches of St. Lawrence and All Saints, and Our Lady of Sorrows. The children of Effingham & Little Bookham will be displaying their artwork to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which will be on display throughout the week at St. Lawrence and All Saints church. There will be an exhibition by local historians chronicling the changes in Effingham throughout the reign of the Queen, which will be on display at The Methodist Chapel and St. Lawrence Church.

On Saturday 4th June there will be a day of celebration in the KGV Playing Fields, with live music starting at 12:00, and throughout the afternoon and evening. There will be various events for children. There will be Keep Fit classes, and drop-in circus skills workshops. The event comes to an end at 9pm with the Effingham Proms.
