Berkeley Homes propose an extra 110 houses on the Green Belt

Berkeley Homes have announced that they want to build an extra 110 houses on land in the Green Belt, and adjacent to the Effingham Lodge Farm site that has already has building approval for 159 houses and the Howard of Effingham School.

Berkeley Homes claim these extra houses are required to pay to build the school because of increased costs since the Public Enquiry in 2017, where they presented to the Inspector a detailed financial justification for the enabling homes.

It is understood that there are still outstanding planning conditions to be met before work can start on building the new school and houses.
