Rob Hope has been appointed as a new Trustee for the Effingham Village Recreation Trust (EVRT), who are responsible for the KGV Hall and Playing Fields.
A statement from Rob:
“I am excited to joining the Effingham Village Recreation Trust.
I grew up in the area and attended the Howard of Effingham School and Sixth form. Throughout this time I enjoyed all that the local community offers including stints at nearly all of the local sports clubs as well as many hours running around the villages with friends.
I’m a fundraiser by profession, currently working as the Head of Fundraising at Kidney Care UK where I lead a team that generates c£1.5m a year. I have also built teams and developed income for the Stroke Association and Pancreatic Cancer UK raising more than £12m over the last 10 years. Prior to my career in the third sector, I worked in planning and managing hospitality events and venues, both here in Surrey and nationally.
Following a few years away from the area, I have returned to Effingham with my wife and three young children and now find myself enjoying the facilities through different eyes.
I enjoy being part of our local community and look forward to offering my skill and experience to help ensure the next generation enjoy our community as much as I have and do.“
