Effingham Parish Council has launched an urgent campaign for Judicial Review to challenge the ‘irrational and incomprehensible’ decision of a planning inspector to allow Berkeley Homes to build an additional 114 homes on green belt land at Effingham Lodge Farm. The proposals come in addition to a previous plan allowed at appeal in 2018 to use green belt land to build 295 homes in our small village, to fund the rebuilding of the Howard of Effingham School.
Ian Symes, Chairman of the Parish Council, said “It is beyond belief that a decision such as this could be reached when there was clear evidence that the costs were inaccurate and the need unsubstantiated.”
