Updates on Berkeley Decision not to build new school

Effingham Parish Council has commented briefly on its website about Berkeley’s decision not to build the new school which can be read here.

  1. Surely the reason Berkeley were given planning permission to build on Lodge Farm was because the plans included a new school. Given that that they are withdrawing from building the school, surely all previous permissions granted are now NULL and VOID.
    The land is Green Belt and should be exempt from any building given that the exceptional circumstances no longer exist.
    Please EPC and EFFRA fight Berkeley tooth and nail.

  2. Please can someone tell me right now how many homes in total across all sites are Berkeley Homes now asking to build in Effingham. Thanks for letting me know.

  3. So not totally unexpected it follows a typical theme by developers promising much but delivering only what suits their profit margin. Can the council refuse planning now on their updated development. Are they going to insist on making sure that extra services are built into any new design so as not to overload already stressed facilities. I doubt it. This leaves a very bad taste.
