Young Street will be closed for five weeks from 16 April for essential maintenance. Surrey County Council will be waterproofing the bridge over the River Mole, repairing damaged bridge joints, replacing kerbs and resurfacing the road.
Unfortunately due to the width of the bridge the Council are unable to use temporary traffic lights and keep one lane open. The road will be closed to all traffic including cyclists and pedestrians.
The A246 will be closed from south of Leatherhead from the Bocketts Farm roundabout to Givons Grove roundabout, where the A246 joins the A24. Effingham residents will still be able to access Leatherhead via the B2122 and Bocketts Farm as normal.
