Effingham Parish Councillor Convicted of One Charge and Cleared of Three Other Charges at Staines Magistrates’ Court

Effingham Parish Councillor, James Nicholls was convicted of one charge of swearing in public in the presence of police officers and cleared of three others at Staines Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 4th April 2018.  The charges were in connection with an incident at King George V Playing Fields, Effingham on Friday 25th August 2017 when he confronted travellers who had set up camp on the playing fields. He had earlier appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on 26th September 2017 and then at Staines Magistrates Court on 18th December 2017.
