Email comments on Berkeley Homes appeals to be made by 1 July

Further to our post on 22 June, the Planning Inspectorate has confirmed to EFFRA that representations can be made by email to:
elizabeth.humphrey@planninginspectorate.gov.uk

The representations relate to the appeals made by Berkeley Homes to:-

1) GBC’s refusal of 110 homes on Green Belt, and
2) GBC’s refusal of the detailed design of the Howard of Effingham School site development (99 homes)

Your representation must include:

• your name and address;
• the Planning Inspectorate appeal reference number –
Inspectorate’s Ref: APP/Y3615/W/22/3298341 for refusal of 110 homes on the Green Belt
or
Inspectorate’s Ref: APP/Y3615/W/22/3298390 for refusal of the detailed design of the existing Howard of Efingham School site (99 homes)
• the address of the appeal site:
for the 110 homes
Land at Effingham Lodge Farm, Lower Road, Effingham, Leatherhead, KT24 5JP
or
for the existing school site (99 homes)
Howard Of Effingham School, Lower Road, Effingham, Leatherhead, KT24 5JR

You need to say ‘I am against the appeal proposals’ and then say why, such as you “support the reasons for refusal given by Guildford Borough Council”.

These were (in summary):
for the 110 homes
that it was inappropriate development within the Green Belt which would result in a harmful loss of openness and further encroachment into the countryside and it would represent an overly urban form of development which would result in harm to the character and appearance of the area.
for the existing school site (99 homes)
harm to the Little Bookham Conservation Area and heritage assets.

As previously posted, Effingham Residents Association (EFFRA) will be responding to both appeals, supporting Guildford Borough Council’s refusal of the planning applications.
