Michael Agius has been co-opted as a trustee of the Effingham Village Recreation Trust (EVRT) which runs the KGV hall and playing fields. Michael is a retired Consultant Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He was Managing Director of Howard Humphreys Tanzania for 10 years, and Project Manager for a motorway across north Greece.
He is a long time Little Bookham resident where he is deputy chairman of the Bookham Residents Association, with special responsibility for Infrastructure, particularly drainage. He has just retired as Chairman of the Woodlands Road Residents Association. Michael is a Governor at Cranmore School in West Horsley, where he chairs the Finance and General Purposes Committee. Also he is chairman of the Ashtead based charity Action in Africa. He also has close links with Effingham, a member of Effingham Local History Group, and every November for the past 15 years Michael and his wife have held a quiz at KGV to raise funds for the Mtandika Vocational Trade School.
