Thanks to everyone who helped with the Litter Pick on Monday 8 May. It was our biggest Pick ever with 37 families attending and around 40 bags of litter, plus 2 traffic cones, 2 buckets, a chair and a load of asbestos (which a volunteer is reporting to the Council for collection). The rain held off (just!) and it was wonderful to see the pride which residents have in our village, as well as the enthusiasm for working together.
Like all our Litter Picks this was a joint event with Parishes of St Lawrence Effingham and All Saints Little Bookham, and our thanks go to Caroline and Mandy for providing cakes (and the Church as a venue!).
Special thanks go to Sarah Montgomery for arranging the children and their parents who did a marvellous job of cleaning the KGV, as well as Jenny for the teas and Vivien for help with the equipment.
Our next pick is on Saturday 29 July, by which time sadly there’ll be plenty more litter to pick.
Thanks again for all your help. Enjoy our nice clean village!
