Local resident Keith Cornwell sadly died on Saturday 31st May at Epsom Hospital after a short illness. During his over fifty years in Effingham he contributed greatly to the community and was a member of many local organisations to which he made valued and lasting contributions.

Keith and his wife Valerie moved to Effingham in 1972 with their family and later established a successful business here. From the start Keith was involved with local community organisations, chairing Effingham Residents Association for a period in the 1970s, becoming an active member of Effingham Rugby Club and later becoming a parish councillor for a number of terms including chairing the Parish Council from 1989 to 1992. He was also a committee officer of the Effingham Housing Association.

  1. A truly remarkable man whose sense of community shone through. Will be sure to fit it wherever he goes to as his maker sees his good deeds are widely shared. Enjoy the onward journey and all thank you for the life best lived. Bless
