Another site in the plan which matched a recently submitted planning application is the former Wisley Airfield site. In April, these proposals for a new settlement of more than 2,000 homes at the site were rejected by the planning committee, which cited infrastructure issues and a failure to provide “appropriate provision of affordable housing” as reasons for the refusal.
The local plan proposal is very similar to the rejected application, with approximately 2,000 homes suggested, eight traveller pitches and a new school.
