Ash dieback drop-in session Tuesday 24 October at KGV

Surrey County Council will be holding a ‘drop-in’ sessions for the public to learn more about Ash dieback and our plans to address it at King George V Hall, Browns Lane, Effingham, KT24 5ND. Tuesday 24 October 10am to 12.30pm.

Ash dieback, caused by the non-native fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (formerly known as Chalara fraxinea), presents a significant threat to the UK’s treescape on a scale not seen since Dutch Elm disease in the 1970s.

Further information about what Surrey County Council is doing about Ash dieback can be found on their website at www.surreycc.gov.uk/culture-and-leisure/countryside/management/woodlands/ash-dieback, which also provides links to other websites for further information.
