Ash dieback drop-in session Tuesday 24 October at KGV

Surrey County Council will be holding a ‘drop-in’ sessions for the public to learn more about Ash dieback and our plans to address it at King George V Hall, Browns Lane, Effingham, KT24 5ND. Tuesday 24 October 10am to 12.30pm.

Ash dieback, caused by the non-native fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (formerly known as Chalara fraxinea), presents a significant threat to the UK’s treescape on a scale not seen since Dutch Elm disease in the 1970s.

Further information about what Surrey County Council is doing about Ash dieback can be found on their website at, which also provides links to other websites for further information.
