Berkeley Homes is required to submit an Environmental Statement for its proposed application to build up to 600 dwellings on Effingham Lodge Farm, north of Lower Road. Berkeley Homes has put forward its proposal for the scope and level of detail required in this Environmental Statement.
Both EFFRA and Effingham Parish Council believe the proposal will not give GBC sufficient reliable information to fully understand the environmental effects of the proposed scheme. As a result, both organisations have made submissions to GBC objecting to Berkeley Homes’ proposals.
These submissions will be posted by GBC on its website 26/S/00002. GBC has posted the Parish Council’s submission which can be read there. EFFRA’s has not yet been posted by GBC but can be read here.
600 dwellings wow that will kill our schools, doctors and shop parking. Let alone local massive road congestion. Yes some will walk and bike ride but this development is not good walking distance to many facilities. Some questions:
Do the plans allow for extra medical facilities
What will happen to children in Bookham/Fetcham wanting a place at the Howard
How impactful will this huge development have on the local waterways and all the wildlife that use it.
Local shops have limited parking how will this be dealt with
Will each dwelling have solar panel roofs if not what green energy will be installed with each build.
If new infrastructure is not part of the development plan it will become a complete disaster for the local area.
