In late 2024 the Friends of Effingham Junction Station managed to get permission to remove the ugly barriers lining the access road to the station. On Saturday morning they were busy tidying up the land where the barriers were situated between the access road and the carpark fence. Longstanding residents may remember there was a footpath alongside the fence and the intention is to reinstate it so that pedestrians do not have to walk on the access road.
They are also intending to make the area around the station more wildlife friendly. If there are any knowledgeable residents who can help or advise on that or there are any expert bughotel builders who can help they would love to hear from you.
