Roadworks update 10th May

Please note that the items listed below cover only those roadworks on more major routes likely to lead to significant traffic delaysTo check on all roadworks coming up, please go to https://one.network/ which provides a live map of ongoing works, both scheduled and emergency, and can be searched by location and date / time frame.

Effingham Common Road Multiway lights from April 1st – August 4th. One hopes this will be done sooner! It has started up at the station end and is gradually moving back towards the village.

Old Lane (stretch from Effingham Junction to the Black Swan) has a closure over the next week for surface dressing. Best rely on the signage at the Effingham Junction end of Old Lane – hopefully a diversion is signed.

From May 12th – 19th, there are daytime (9.30am – 3pm) closures on Beech Avenue, Critten Lane and Ranmore Common Road near High Barn Road for surface dressing.

Also over the next two weeks are possible overnight road closures on A3 and Wisley Lane from Ockham to Wisley gardens and village. The traffic lights remain on Wisley Lane as well. Look out for signed diversions if needing to travel during a closure. Nearby Ockham Road North is closed from 11th – 15th May for water works on the approach to the Ockham Roundabout.

Over in Bookham, the pedestrian traffic lights on the A246 just east of the High Street are still being replaced and temporary lights are in place till 15th May.

From 11th to 30th May Church Road is closed from the Squareabout to Bookham Station for traffic calming, drainage works, pedestrian crossing upgrades and localised surfacing. Multiway lights will be in place in Lower Road just east of the Squareabout for some water works on 11th & 12th May.

Remember you can always report a Highways Issue such as potholes, drainage problems, traffic lights not working etc at https://tellus.surreycc.gov.uk/

  1. In addition to the closure of the roads you have indicated, the road between Downside and St Andrews Church, Cobham, is closed from today, 10th May, for 6 days from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Not sure how you get to the A3 this week.
