Surrey County Council Effingham Parking Review Consultation

Surrey County Council is consulting on the introduction of parking restrictions for the northern end of The Street and around near-by junctions off Effingham Common Road. As a result of concerns expressed by residents about inconsiderate and potentially dangerous parking our Surrey County Councillor Dennis Booth nominated Effingham for a parking review in 2024. A meeting attended by Councillor Booth, representatives of Effingham Parish Council and EFFRA and some concerned residents was held last year with Surrey County Council highways officers to discuss possible parking restrictions. This resulted in the proposed plans which aim is to improve safety by preventing inconsiderate parking blocking sight-lines at the mini-roundabouts, at the corner of Leewood Way, and for residents of The Street, whilst minimising the loss of on-street parking spaces.

Full details can be found on the Guildford Parking Review webpage under the Statement of reasons for parished area proposals (PDF) and the Horsley’s Division Plans (PDF). The consultation closing date is Friday 31 October.
