Claim up to £10,000 to make your home warmer and more energy efficient

Guildford residents are being urged to act quickly to receive up to £10,000 per household. This can make your home more energy efficient and help you save money on your energy bills.

The grant project is being run by Action Surrey on behalf of all Surrey local authorities and provides funds for cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and solar renewable technology.

Lead Councillor for Climate Change, Cllr Cait Taylor, said: “More funding has been made available as part of the government scheme to improve energy efficiency in people’s homes, cut heating costs and help the environment.

Since declaring a Climate Emergency in July 2019, we are committed to becoming a net-zero carbon borough by 2030. We are working closely with partners and communities to tackle it together.

Deputy Leader of the Council and Lead Councillor for Community and Housing, Cllr Julia McShane, added: “If you are a Guildford resident struggling with your energy bills, this scheme can help you make your home much more energy efficient and save money.

Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for anyone living in a hard-to-heat home and on a low income. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2022.

Please note grants are available to those who meet the criteria and currently living in Surrey. Action Surrey are the only organisation able to verify eligibility for the scheme.
