Heritage Open Day is this Saturday 12 September

The weather is looking good for Heritage Open Day in Effingham and Little Bookham on this Saturday 12th September.  There will be six historic buildings open to visit, all within walking distance of each other.  The Bishop’s Walk – (otherwise known as public footpath 118) links All Saints Church and St Lawrence Church. It has often been very muddy to walk but has recently been resurfaced by Surrey County Council.  To mark this EFFRA has published a new edition of the leaflet The Bishop’s Walk which will be available from all venues. (Thank you to Effingham Parish Council for covering the printing costs from the Community Fund).
There will also be parking available in both villages.

At the beautiful Manor Farm Tithe Barn in Manor House Lane (Little Bookham KT23 4EW)  EFFRA is helping Bookhams Residents’ Association celebrate its 100th birthday with a special exhibition on 100 Years of the Bookhams’ History. Home-made cakes and refreshments will be available to enjoy in the pretty garden or in the Tithe Barn. There will also be refreshments available at the friendly Methodist Chapel along with children’s activities. And from 11am to 1pm the church café in St Lawrence Church Hall is opening especially for the occasion.

The six historic buildings with their times of opening are:

– Effingham Golf Club from 9am to 12am
– Methodist Chapel from 10am to 5pm (also Friday 10am to 4pm)
– St Lawrence Church from 10am to 4pm
– Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church from 10am to 4pm
– All Saints Church from 9.30am to 5pm
– Manor Farm Tithe Barn and exhibition from 9.30am to 5pm
