Planned roadworks for the comming week from Monday 13 January.
Traffic lights will be operating in Effingham Common Road opposite the primary school from Wednesday 15 January to Thursady 16, to allow Surrey County Council to repair large pothole in centre of carriageway at roundabout.
National Highways will be closing the A3 in both directions for the weekend of 17-20 January 2025. The closure will start at 9pm on Friday 17 January and will go through until 6am on Monday 20 January. The closed stretch is south of the M25 and will be between the junction 10 interchange and Send B2215/A247.
The diversion route to go southbound during the closure will be via Cobham, Chessington, Great Bookham and Effingham, rejoining the A3 at Send. Meanwhile to travel northbound the diversion route will be via East Clandon, Effingham, Fetcham and then onto the M25 towards Wisley.
National Highways will be installing the Cockcrow Bridge which will be the UK’s first heathland bridge. This means the work is more weather dependent. There’s a risk that the works could be called off at short notice if there are strong winds forecast for the weekend. Please check the National Highways website for the most up to date information.
