Temporary road closures in Ranmore Common area

From Monday 8 January 2024, Surrey County Council will be installing speed limit signs on various roads in the Ranmore Common area. This will result in the temporary closure of a road whilst the signs are installed.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of roads, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

The schedule of work is given below. Only one temporary road closure will be in place at any one time.

  1. D2530 Dorking Road, Bookham and D2530 Chapel Lane, Bookham/Westhumble – that length which extends from a point 260m south of junction with D2620 Howard Road to a point 100m west of junction with D2800 Adlers Lane. Alternative Route – D2530 Dorking Road, D2511 Leatherhead Road, A246 Leatherhead Road, A246 Guildford Road, A246 Young Street, A24 Dorking Road, A24 London Road, A24 Mickleham By-Pass, A24 London Road and D2530 Westhumble Street;
  2. D269 Hogden Lane, Ranmore Common – its entire length. Alternative Route – D268 High Barn Road and C44 Ranmore Common Road;
  3. D271 Ranmore Common Road, Westhumble/Ranmore Common – its entire length. Alternative Route – D2530 Chapel Lane, D2530 Dorking Road, D2511 Leatherhead Road, A246 Leatherhead Road,A246 Guildford Road, C43 Beech Avenue, C43 Critten Lane and C44 Ranmore Common Road;
  4. C43 White Down Lane, Abinger and C43 Critten Lane, Effingham – that length which extends from the junction with C44 Crocknorth Road to the junction with A25 Guildford Road. Alternative Route – A25 Guildford Road, A25 Coast Hill, A25 Guildford Road, A25 Westcott Road, A25 West Street, A2003 Station Road, A2003 Chalk Pit Lane, C44 Ashcombe Road, C44 Ranmore Road and C44 Ranmore Common Road.
