Yet another Traveller invasion in Effingham

On Wednesday 23 August there was another Traveller invasion in Effingham. This time Travellers cut the chain on the A246 gate to the King George V Playing Fields

The KGV Playing Fields and Hall are managed by the charity, the Effingham Village Recreation Trust. The Travellers have parked their vehicles and caravans on the eastern boundary of the King George V Playing fields, adjacent to Manor House School, and properties in Manor House Lane.

Now the gate is open, Travellers are coming and going at free will, driving across the football pitches.

  1. Of course, more will come and they will come again and again in the future as there is a feeble response from Surrey Police and local councillor Liz Hogger of the Lib-Dems who apparently is more interested in the traveller’s welfare rather than local residents.

If little resistance to their incursions by the authorities, then travellers will keep coming and going as it suits them.
