GBC Planning Committee to consider 110 houses on Green Belt on Wed. 30 March

Planning applications 21/P/01306 for 110 homes on the Green Belt, and planning application 21/P/01283 for change of conditions on the Effingham Lodge Farm site will be considered by Guildford Council’s Planning Committee on 30 March 2022, at 7pm at the Council Offices, Council Chamber, Millmead, Guildford, GU2 4BB.

Anyone who wishes to attend the public meeting, should arrive by 6:45pm. Seating will be socially distanced and those sharing a household will be sat together. Of course, anyone with any Covid symptoms should not attend, and should self-isolate.

For those who do not wish to attend the Committee Meeting, there will be a demonstration outside the Council offices prior to the meeting at 7pm. This does help to influence the Planning Committee.

Planning officials have recommended that both planning applications are approved, whilst acknowledging the significant harm to the Green Belt which will result from this development. The Planning Committee will consider whether to accept or reject the applications. Both EPC and EFFRA are due to talk at the meeting against the applications.

There is concern that a significant number of comments opposing the development have been ignored and are not present on the GBC website.
